Desigual, in reality, is not a brand. It is a group of people who believe in the power of creativity as a way of life.


Desigual was created by Thomas Meyer in the Raval neighborhood of Barcelona in 1984 with the design of a jacket that today is considered one of the first upcycling products in the fashion sector. At that time, the filmmaker Isabel Coixet breathed a word, “Unequal”, and accompanied it with the slogan “it’s not the same”.

The Spanish graphic designer, photographer, illustrator and sculptor, Peret, scribbled our first logo, the Humans (man and woman holding hands…naked). And the architect Tonet Sunyer designed the first Desigual store in the port of Ibiza in 1986.

These years were the meeting point for so many people fascinated with that free, authentic, optimistic, uninhibited and Mediterranean universe that, from Barcelona, ​​continues to inspire the world more than three decades later.
